The UPLB Society of Chemical Engineering Students (UPLB SChemES), a duly recognized premier academic organization at the University of the Philippines Los Baños exclusive for B.S. Chemical Engineering students have been committed to the pursuit of professional and academic excellence, the enhancement of interactions among university constituents, and the advancement of the Philippine community through the application of Chemical Engineering.
Over the past years, the Society strived to develop excellence, leadership, and holistic growth. Through hosting events and participating in activities that are aimed to fulfill the mandate, we were able to evolve into a more competitive and reputable organization. With this drive for growth, the Society has been able to produce academic and professional members that actively and meaningfully contribute to the overall wellness and knowledge of the community.

WHY SChemES?
UPLB SChemES is the oldest chemical engineering student organization in UPLB. With its 35 years of existence, the organization has had a track record of student activities engaging with the various constituents of the DChE and CEAT, and likewise, in reaching out to larger communities. UPLB SChemES is opportune for supporting the Department’s from the front by aiding its faculty members in key activities designed to promulgate its mission and vision. From these, UPLB SChemES enables its members to be holistic, putting academics above all, while enhancing inter- and intrapersonal skills that prepares them for their future profession.
